Vintage Activity Center

December 24, 2009

This toy was made in 1973 in the USA by Fisher Price.  It has beautiful, intricate designs and makes a lot of fun noises.  It can be attached to the crib with a thick plastic screw on the back.  Here Logan shows Charlotte how to use it.

My husband and I appreciate that my parents hung on to this toy.  It attracts the attention and admiration of all of us.

WOW, does THAT bring back memories! I’m pretty sure my sister (or perhaps my cousin) had one just like it.

I’m holding on a bunch of the girls’ baby things, much like your parents did. I want my grandchildren to play with the same toys my babies did…

    Happy, merry!

We *totally* had that toy. My grandfather was an engineer at Fisher Price. Love it.

It is such a nice feeling to find out that so many of my friends had this toy too! I had no idea it was so common. Thanks for commenting!

We not only had that, we still have it. Hanging at the end of Maggie’s crib. It was mine and my parents hung on to it. The boys enjoy climbing in with Maggie and giving her lessons as well.

My mom pulled out the Fisher Price play school and house that belonged to my sister (and then me, of course) at Christmas for my cousin’s little ones to enjoy. I even checked the label: MADE IN THE USA!! They were dated about 1970 I think. She has kept all the pieces in great shape, although she couldn’t bring herself to erase the crayon writing on the roof that I contributed. Yay for moms that save special toys!

OMG. My baby sis had this toy and my grandparents held onto it. I used it with my sons and they LOVED IT.

Geez, it’s been so long since I’ve checked on my old blog friends. You made another little person! lol And I had that toy when I was little, too. So weird to see it now. I would never have remembered it if it wasn’t for your pictures.

I just picked one of these up at a thrift store for $2 and didn’t know you can attach it to the crib. I’m definitely going to do that tonight. My little guy needs a distraction when he wakes up.
