F-F-Friday (23)

December 5, 2008

Happy F-F-Friday, y’all.  This is a photo I took in May of the rhododendron bush that blooms by the side of my parents’ house.  I like the smell of this flower and associate it with the mountains of North Carolina.  It makes me think of rock hopping in a creek.   F-F-Friday is hosted by Saintseester.

When I clicked over today to see your FFF photograph, at first I was thinking, “NO WAY!” are those flowers from now! Ha ha! But, they are gorgeous. We tried to grow rhods here but they got very scraggly. Azaleas do somewhat better, but apparently, I am a frilly pink flower killer.

I think that’s what I did for my first F F Friday post.

Happy Friday to you! Thanks again for clueing me in to the bare books – such a huge hit! I just went back and re-read your post; sounds like your daughter reacted differently to them than Abbott did. I wonder if a certain amount of self-consciousness comes with age? (From her ability to write I’m assuming she’s much older than Abbott who is 6!).

Saintseester, I’m trying to participate in F-F-Friday, but having to go back to older photos. So, yeah, the rhododendron is from May.

    Randomability, oh really? Neat.

Lecia, thanks! And a happy weekend to you too. My daughter dictated the story to me and I wrote it for her. She is 4 years old. She’s probably too young for this activity, but I thought I would introduce them to her. Writing in paragraphs is something that I guess an 8 year old would be better at doing.
