Spring Begins

March 20, 2008

I glanced up at the calendar by my desk and noticed that today is the first day of Spring. This cheerful sunflower is actually located in Lima, where Summer is transitioning into Autumn. I took this photo while I was there a few weeks ago. It was in the garden in front of my mother-in-law’s house.

Is that where lima beans come from?

I’m so jealous… you were somewhere that summer was still even a flicker? Green with envy I am. We’re under a winter storm warning again tomorrow. So much for spring. Maybe in a couple of months we’ll get some.

Johnny, yes it is. At least the exportation port of Lima, if not the crop source.

Chris, yes it was summer while I was there. It was around 80 degrees. Very nice! Sorry about your winter storm warning. Have you read this? Too funny!

    Gorgeous. Simply gorgeous.

(sunflowers are my favorite flowers, but even if they weren’t, I’d love this picture).
