See You in a Hundred Years by Logan Ward

November 22, 2007

My friend Logan Ward was interviewed by Tom Graham on the WMRA program Insight.  The interview originally aired on August 24 and was broadcast again yesterday, November 21 and is now archived on the Insight webpage.

If you are interested in low-impact living or how technology separates us from our humanity, you will enjoy listening to the interview.  It’s a great Thanksgiving thinking exercise.

Logan’s book, See You in a Hundred Years, is special to me because “the cast of characters” are my parents and neighbors.  It is about friendship, parenthood and living off the land without being too prideful to accept an occasional out-of-season fruit.  It is about gender roles and trying to turn a quixotic dream into reality.  It is about the Shenandoah Valley.  It is about giving thanks to a god you’re not sure exists.
